Cut the Strings- The true Story of a soul reclaimed

Author, Lynn Grocott a Staffordshire woman, married and mother of three daughters shares her story of life.

“Cut the Strings” is one women’s story of human strength and determination to overcome life’s stumbling blocks. Whether it is childhood abuse, multiple sclerosis, eating disorders, drug abuse or just living life in general, Lynn Grocott has shared her trials and tribulations through her writings with hopes that somewhere in this world, someone may benefit from her experiences.

Lynn tells of her father and mother’s negative parenting and abuse. She reveals just how her inability to overcome the past continues to control her life, "Pulling her strings" as she mentions several times throughout her book. Lynn Grocott uses the analogy of Pinocchio and how she felt like a puppet all her life, having her strings controlled by firstly her father, to just about every aspect of her life.

“Cut the Strings” touched many of my emotions, some that made me smile; others that made me feel horrified. This book is very well written and easy to read. Lynn Grocott has managed to put in words the pain of her illnesses, the pain of watching her family as they supported her through thick and thin. She also tells of her husband’s unconditional love for her as she struggled from one illness to another. I commend Lynn for the courage and stamina she reveals to her reader through “Cut the Strings”. To find light in a dark tunnel, takes pure guts and drive. Lynn Grocott shows this to us many times in her story.
