Chocolate Banana Soy-moo-thy Chocolate Banana Soy-moo-thy

(1 serving)

  • 1 cup soy milk (plain or vanilla)
  • 1 medium banana - quartered
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 3 ice cubes
Purée all the ingredients in a blender until smooth.

Pour into a glass and serve at once.

Who needs desserts?  This after dinner drink is delish

1 C. light cream

14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk

1 2/3 C. Irish Whiskey

1 tsp. instant coffee

2 Tbs. chocolate syrup

1 tsp. each vanilla and almond extract 

combine in blender on high 30 seconds, bottle in tightly sealed container and refrigerate.  will keep at least 2 months if kept cool.  shake before serving.

Cranberry spritzer

SERVES 10

Ingredients

1 quart reduced-calorie cranberry juice
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1 quart carbonated water
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup raspberry sherbet
10 lemon or lime wedges

Directions

Refrigerate the cranberry juice, lemon juice and carbonated water until cold.

In a large pitcher, mix together the cranberry juice, lemon juice, carbonated water, sugar and sherbet. Pour into tall chilled glasses and garnish with a lemon or lime wedge. Serve immediately.

SERVES 16

Ingredients

2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen unsweetened strawberries
1 can (30 ounces) crushed pineapple with juice
3 cups orange juice
2 quarts carbonated water, chilled
16 fresh strawberries

Directions

In a blender, combine the frozen strawberries, pineapple with juice and orange juice. Blend until smooth and frothy.

Pour the strawberry mixture into ice cube trays and freeze.

To serve, put 3 strawberry cubes into a tall glass and fill with 1/2 cup of the carbonated water. Wait until the mixture becomes slushy. Garnish with a strawberry and serve.


Nutritious Fruit Punch

Nutritious Fruit Punch

1 qt home canned peaches
1 banana
3 lemons
Finely grated rind from 1 lemon
1 large can pineapple juice
1(12 oz) can frozen orange juice concentrate
1 1/2 cup sugar (approximately)
Water

Mix peaches and banana in blender. Finely grate skin of one lemon,
then juice 3 lemons. Mix peaches, banana, lemon rind, lemon juice,
pineapple juice and orange juice in a large container. Add enough
water to make 2 gallons. Sweeten to taste. Serve chilled.

SERVES 4

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups orange juice, chilled
1 cup light vanilla soy milk (soya milk), chilled
1/3 cup silken or soft tofu
1 tablespoon dark honey
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 ice cubes
4 peeled orange segments

Directions

In a blender, combine the orange juice, soy milk, tofu, honey, orange zest, vanilla and ice cubes. Blend until smooth and frothy, about 30 seconds.

Pour into tall, chilled glasses and garnish each glass with an orange segment.


Pineapple Punch with Ginger

Pineapple Punch with Ginger

3 ounce packages fruit flavored gelatin mix
4 cups white sugar
13 cups boiling water
46 ounce cans pineapple juice
16 ounce bottle lemon juice concentrate
2 liter bottles ginger ale, chilled

In a large bowl, combine gelatin and sugar. Stir in boiling water until mixture is dissolved. Stir in pineapple juice and lemon juice concentrate. Divide into 2 containers, and freeze until solid.
To serve, place gelatin mixture in punch bowl, and chop into pieces. Pour in ginger ale.


Spiced Apple Cider

Spiced Apple Cider - serves 16

12 whole allspice
6 whole cloves
2 quarts apple juice or apple cider
1 quart water
3 tea bags, regular or decaffeinated
1/2 orange with peel, thinly sliced
1/2 lemon with peel, thinly sliced
2 cinnamon sticks
Ground allspice to taste

Garnish:
1 orange with peel, thinly sliced
1 lemon with peel, thinly sliced

Place whole allspice and cloves in tied cheesecloth packet.
In a saucepan, bring apple juice or cider, water, tea bags, orange, lemon, cinnamon and cheesecloth packet to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes. Remove cheesecloth packet, tea bags and orange and lemon slices.
Simmer 5 minutes add ground allspice to taste.
Serve hot or chilled. Garnish with fresh slices of orange and lemon.


Strawberry Banana Shake

Strawberry Banana Shake - servings 9

20 oz frozen strawberries, slightly thawed
4 med bananas, sliced
2 cup fat-free half and half
4 cup low-fat vanilla ice cream, slightly softened

In a food processor or blender, combine strawberries, half and half, and bananas. Cover and process until well blended. Add ice cream at a cup at a time. Cover and process until smooth and well blended.


Summer Slush
Summer Slush  (any liquor can be substitued for this easy freezer drink and the sugar can be modified to your taste w/out affecting the outcome.

2 1/2 cups hot tea
12 oz frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
6 oz frozen orange juice concentrate
2 cups bourbon
1 cup sugar
6 cups water

Let tea cool, then mix all ingredients together and freeze in a plastic container. When ready to serve, scoop into a glass. Garnish with pineapple chunks or a cherry on a toothpick, or mint.
